The Quincy University men's tennis team suffered a 6-0 loss to conference opponent Rockhurst University this afternoon. The shutout was Quincy's third consecutive conference loss.
Inclement weather kept the Hawks indoors today, resulting in a short match of three doubles competitions and three singles competitions. In doubles, partners
Ian Hinkamper and
Lane Luhring, and
Greg Kuchta and
Ethan Arns both suffered 8-4 losses to their Rockhurst opponents.Â
Dan Martin and
John Moskal were defeated by Rodolfo Gauto-Mariotti and Victor Klintcharov in an 8-0 shutout.
In singles, Hinkamper was the only Hawk to take his opponent to three sets; however, John Lazenby took the win defeating Hinkamper 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. Luhring was defeated 6-0, 6-2 and Kuchta fell to Klintcharov 8-0 in one set.Â
The Hawks fall to 2-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and 8-5 overall. Quincy tennis is back in action Saturday, April 14th to face William Jewell College in another conference match. If rain threatens competition, the matches will be moved indoors to begin at 12:30 p.m.
