Jackie Ghent, a native of the Philippines but raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, enters her second season as the women’s wrestling assistant coach. Ghent has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Campbellsville University.
Ghent began wrestling her freshman year of high school and in her four years became a 4-time state qualifier and a back-to-back state champion her junior and senior year. She also attained both folkstyle and freestyle All-American status. During her career at Campbellsville University, Ghent was part of 3 national team championships. She also was an NAIA All-American, a 3-time NAIA national qualifier, and a 3 time academic All-American.
Prior to joining the Quincy Hawks, Ghent was a graduate assistant at her alma mater for her final season, and then coached her first season at Grandview University. She has coached two NAIA finalists, seven NAIA All-Americans, and eleven NAIA national qualifiers.
Ghent is passionate about leadership and is so grateful to be in a position where she can encourage and empower young women and men. She is devoted to being in the athletes’ corners both on and off the mat. Her goal is to contribute to their growth as an athlete, a wrestler, a student, but most importantly, as a person.
Ghent shared why she chose to join QU. “After my first season of coaching, I learned a great deal about what kind of environment I needed in order to see my fullest impact as a coach. After a lot of prayer and thought, the Lord led me to Quincy University and I know I am exactly where I need to be.”
