Danielle Surprenant is in her sixth year (2015-16) with the Quincy University athletic department.

Surprenant joined the department in the fall of 2010, assuming the role of Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. In the summer of 2015, she was elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations. She is charged with oversight of academic services within the athletic department and also overseeing the office of compliance.

Surprenant came to Quincy University after spending the previous year as at Stony Brook University in New York. While at Stony Brook Surprenant held the roles of Academic Advisor and Student-Athlete Development. She served as the Academic Advisor for eight sports and was responsible for advising over 250 student-athletes on classes, majors and graduation requirements. She also helped create and plan different CHAMPS/Life Skills programs and co-advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Surprenant graduated from Saint Francis (Pa.) University in May 2007 with a B.S. in Marketing and a B.S. in Management. She then earned her Master's degree in Recreation and Sport Management from Indiana State University in May 2009. While at Indiana State served as the graduate assistant for Academic Services for Athletics.

The Carthage, Ill. native was a two-year basketball player at St. Francis and All-Region performer at John Wood Community College. She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics and a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Rho Phi Lambda.

Surprenant and her husband, Grant, reside in Carthage, Ill. with their daughter, Elliotte (3), and infant son, Kannon. Grant Surprenant is the girls basketball coach at nearby Illini West High School.
