Brendan Saak enters his second year (2021-22) as the Director of Athletic Communications at Quincy University.
Saak oversees the media operations for the Hawks’ 23 sports in NCAA Division I & II within the Great Lakes Valley Conference and Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. He manages QU's athletics website, quhawks.com, and manages the department's social media platforms. Saak also oversees the operation of the GLVC Sports Network and all home broadcasts for the athletic department.
Prior to becoming the Director of Athletic Communications in July of 2020, Saak was a graduate assistant in the Athletic Communications Department at QU from 2018-2020. During his postgraduate studies, Saak helped create digital content, write press releases, input statistical game information, and assist with game operations for the athletic department. In the summer, he held an operations position with former Prospect League affiliate, the Hannibal Hoots in 2018 and 2019. He graduated with his master's degree in Business Administration in May of 2020.
Saak also was a dual-sport athlete at Quincy University from 2014-2018 where he played football and baseball for the Hawks. He graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Sports Management. During his undergraduate studies, Saak worked for the Quincy Herald-Whig as a sports clerk writing local high school recaps.
He is originally from Belleville, Illinois and currently resides in Quincy.
