Biography

Personal: Ryan Ramirez, a native of Chicago, Illinois, is a graduate of West Leyden High School, where he competed for the Eagles. He is the son of Danny and Raquel Ramirez and has a brother, Anthony. Following high school, Ryan attended Joliet Junior College for a year and a half, where he wrestled as a heavyweight and earned recognition on the 2022–2023 North Central Community College Conference All-Academic Team. He is also a proud member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.

Ryan’s journey in wrestling began at a young age. Introduced to the sport in first grade by his mother, he initially resisted, having a stronger passion for baseball. However, after the tragic loss of his mother in 2009, wrestling became his anchor. He describes her as his Guardian Angel, guiding him from above. Wrestling took on a new meaning, becoming a way to cope and persevere. Ryan was a dedicated four-year varsity starter in high school.

At age 18, he joined the military and began a family, which temporarily pulled him away from the sport. Despite the time away, Ryan never stopped training or dreaming of a return. Nearly a decade later, he is living out that dream as a member of the wrestling team, determined to make the most of his opportunity and give the sport he loves one final run.

Outside of wrestling, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and reading his Bible. He draws inspiration from athletes like Brock Lesnar, Jackie Robinson, and Conor McGregor. A loyal fan of the Chicago White Sox, Ryan brings not only talent and tenacity to the mat but also a story of perseverance, faith, and heart.
