Biography
2024-25 (Sophomore): Ryner increased his win total to 16 on the season, one of seven Hawks to have 15 or more victories. He earned three of those wins by sweeping the Loosbrock Duals (11/8/24), helping the Hawks to four dual victories. Maxim finished in 2nd-place at the Service Salute Open (11/9/24), falling to his teammate Logan Colbert in the open 197 division. On the season, Ryner was 7-3 in dual matches.

2023-24 (Freshman): Ryner made his collegiate debut at the Maryville Open (11/4/23), earning his first two victories, both by fall, in the amateur 195 division. Maxim earned his first career dual victory against Missorui Baptist (11/14/23), helping the Hawks to a 32-20 victory in Pepsi Arena.

Personal: Ryner hails from Macomb, Illinois, where he graduated from Macomb High School. He is the son of Sara and Joe Ryner and the brother of Lilly and Sam. His father played football at Monmouth, and his brother wrestled at UW-Whitewater. In high school, Maxim had 126 career wins and was a two-time state qualifier, where he placed one time. In his free time, he enjoys playing pool and eating. Ryner is also a fan of all Chicago sports.
