2025-26 (Redshirt Sophomore): Did not see action.

2024-25 (Sophomore): Ryner took a strong step forward during his sophomore season, finishing with a 16-16 overall record and a .500 win percentage. He was a steady contributor in dual action, going 9-4 overall and 2-2 in conference matchups while posting a .692 dual win percentage and scoring 40 dual points for Quincy.

Ryner recorded four falls, three tech falls, one major decision, six decision victories, and one ranked win during the season. He earned the first podium finish of his collegiate career at the Service Salute Open (11/9/24), going 2-1 and placing second after falling to teammate Logan Colbert in the first-place match. Ryner later added another podium finish at the Roger Denker Open (1/19/25), where he placed sixth.

Personal: Ryner is from Macomb, Illinois, where he graduated from Macomb High School. During his high school career, Maxim recorded 126 career wins and was a two-time state qualifier, placing once at the state level.

Maxim is the son of Sara and Joe Ryner and has two siblings, Lilly and Sam. His father played football at Monmouth, while his brother wrestled at UW-Whitewater. In his free time, Ryner enjoys playing pool and eating, and he is a fan of all Chicago sports teams.
