2025-26 (Redshirt Sophomore): Hobbs continued to gain experience for the Hawks during the 2025-26 season, finishing with a 2-10 overall record and a .167 win percentage. Both of his victories came by fall. Hobbs earned both of his wins at the Service Salute Open (11/8/25), where he collected a pair of falls during tournament action.

2023-24 (Freshman): Hobbs gained his first collegiate experience during the 2023-24 season, finishing with a 1-9 overall record and a .100 win percentage. He did not see dual action, with his lone victory coming by tech fall. Hobbs made his collegiate debut at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/4/23), where he picked up the first win of his career by tech fall in the Amateur 285 division.

Personal: Hobbs is from Marine, Illinois, where he graduated from Triad High School and competed for the Knights. During his high school career, he was part of the Illinois Greco-Roman State Championships, earning second- and fourth-place finishes. He was also a one-time Fargo National Qualifier. Matt is the son of Angela and Kurt Hobbs. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights and playing video games.
