Quincy University Hawks

2023-24 (Sophomore): Garrett continued to see regular time in the Quincy lineup during his sophomore season, finishing with a 9-18 overall record and a .333 win percentage. He went 4-8 in dual action, including a 1-4 mark in conference matchups, while scoring 21 dual points for the Hawks.

Garrett recorded four falls, one tech fall, and three decision victories on the season. He also found the podium twice, placing third at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/4/23) and sixth at the Lindenwood Open (11/18/23).

2022-23 (Freshman): Garrett was a regular contributor for the Hawks during his freshman season, finishing with a 12-23 overall record and a .343 win percentage. He saw consistent dual action, going 6-10 overall and 1-4 in conference duals while scoring 33 dual points for Quincy.

Garrett led the team with nine falls on the season and added one decision victory. He made his collegiate debut at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/5/22), where he went 2-3 and placed sixth. He later added another podium finish at the Lindenwood Open (11/19/22), placing fifth.

Personal: Garrett is from Quincy, Illinois, where he attended Quincy Senior High School and competed for the Blue Devils. He is the son of Dawn Hankins and Josh Hankins and has three siblings: Kylea Hankins, Garrett Hankins, and Shawn Bence.

During his high school career, Garrett served as a two-time team captain and was ranked 10th in IHSA Class 3A. In the classroom, he was also a member of the Honor Society. His favorite athlete is Muhammad Ali, and he is a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
