2023-24 (Sophomore): As a sophomore, Garrett kicked off his season with a 3rd-place finish at the Maryville Open (11/4/23) in the amateur 285 division, earning three wins. Throughout the season, Kayden had a record of 4-8 in dual matches.

2022-23 (Freshman): Garrett led the team with nine falls as a freshman and made his debut and picked up his first collegiate victory in the Maryville Open (11/5/22). He earned two wins and fell in the 5th-place match in the amateur 197 division. At the Lindenwood Open (11/19/22), Kayden earned a 5th-place finish in the fresh/soph 197 black division, picking up three wins.

Personal: Kayden Garrett is a dedicated athlete from Quincy, IL, who attended Quincy Senior High, competing as a Blue Devil. A two-time team captain, Kayden’s leadership skills were evident both on and off the field. His performance earned him recognition, including a 10th-place ranking in IHSA 3A.

Academically, Kayden excelled as a member of the Honor Society, balancing his studies with his athletic commitments. His family—mother Dawn Hankins, father Josh Hankins, and siblings Kylea Hankins, Garrett Hankins, and Shawn Bence—has been a strong support system throughout his journey.

Inspired by Muhammad Ali, Kayden admires the dedication and determination of legendary athletes. When it comes to professional sports, he’s a devoted fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I am in the Illinois National Guard and Quincy allows me to stay home and still be able to wrestle along with being close to my unit.
