Quincy University Hawks

2025-26 (Senior): Yates put together a strong senior season for the Hawks, finishing with a 19-18 overall record and a .514 win percentage. He was a regular part of the dual lineup, going 8-7 overall and 1-4 in conference matchups while posting a .533 dual win percentage and scoring 41 dual points for Quincy.

Yates was one of the Hawks’ top bonus-point contributors, recording five falls, eight tech falls, two major decisions, and three decision victories. He also added two ranked wins, which tied for the team lead.

Yates opened the year with a runner-up finish at the Luther Hill Open (11/1/25) before adding another second-place finish at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/22/25).

All three of his victories came by bonus points, as he recorded one tech fall and two major decisions. Yates earned a fourth-place finish at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/24/24), where he collected all three of his wins on the season.

2023-24 (Sophomore): Yates remained a steady contributor for the Hawks during his sophomore season, finishing with a 13-15 overall record and a .464 win percentage. He went 5-5 in dual action, including a 3-2 mark in conference matchups, while scoring 20 dual points for Quincy.

Yates recorded three falls, four tech falls, one major decision, and five decision victories during the season. He opened the year with a strong showing at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/4/23), earning a third-place finish. Yates later closed the season with a sixth-place finish at NCAA Division II Regional #4 (3/2/24).

2022-23 (Freshman): Yates made an immediate impact during his first season with the Hawks, finishing with a 16-11 overall record and a team-leading .593 win percentage. He also went 5-3 in dual action, including a 1-1 mark in conference matchups, while posting a .625 dual win percentage and scoring 27 dual points.

Yates was one of Quincy’s top bonus-point wrestlers during the season, leading the team with three tech falls and five major decisions while adding four falls and three decision victories. He made his collegiate debut at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/5/22) and started his career with a first-place finish, going 3-0 to win the Amateur 174 division.
