He did not see dual action, but continued to produce bonus-point victories with three falls, one tech fall, three major decisions, and four decision wins.
Vernon started the season with a first-place finish at the Luther Hill Open (11/1/25), going 3-0 to capture the Open 157 division title. The tournament win marked the second title of his collegiate career.

2024-25 (Junior): Vernon took a strong step forward during his junior season, finishing with a 17-17 overall record and a .500 win percentage. He was a regular part of the dual lineup for the Hawks, going 8-6 overall and 2-3 in conference matchups while scoring 36 dual points for Quincy.
Vernon led the team with eight falls and seven decision victories, while also adding one tech fall during the season. He captured the first tournament title of his career at the Service Salute Open (11/9/24), going 3-0 in the Open 157 division. Vernon also finished the year with a strong postseason showing, placing sixth at NCAA Division II Regional #4 (3/1/25).

2023-24 (Sophomore): Vernon continued to build experience for the Hawks during his sophomore season, finishing with a 7-14 overall record and a .333 win percentage. He saw limited dual action, going 0-2 overall and 0-1 in conference matchups.
Vernon recorded three falls, one major decision, and three decision victories during the year. His top tournament finish came at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/4/23), where he went 3-2 and earned the first podium finish of his career with a seventh-place finish in the Amateur 149 division.

2022-23 (Freshman): Vernon gained valuable experience during his first season with the Hawks, finishing with an 8-17 overall record and a .320 win percentage. He appeared regularly in dual competition, going 4-5 overall and 1-2 in conference matchups while scoring 21 dual points for Quincy.
Vernon recorded one fall, one major decision, and four decision victories during his freshman campaign. He made his collegiate debut at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/5/22) before earning his first win on the mat with a 6-5 decision at 133 pounds in Quincy’s 38-9 dual victory over Fontbonne (11/9/22).

Personal: Vernon is from Las Vegas, Nevada, where he attended Faith Lutheran High School and competed for the Knights. During his high school career, he earned a fourth-place finish at the state level. Outside of athletics, Hunter has a wide range of interests, including real estate, law, gospel, coding, music production, marketing, investing, and financial management. He also enjoys good food and spending time with his dogs.
