Personal: Mohring is from Cambria, Illinois, where he attended Carterville High School and competed for the Lions. During his high school career, he was a two-time Class 1A sectional qualifier and earned several honors, including the Character and Leadership All-American Award, First Team All-Conference recognition, All-South Team honors, and team MVP.

Elijah is the son of Angie and Mike Ren and has four siblings: Jon Mohring, Shaydie Russell, Delta Hood, and Georgie Ren. His favorite athletes are Bo Nickal, Kyle Dake, Drew Brees, and Aaron Donald, and he is a fan of the New Orleans Saints.
