Personal: Lauren Erke, a proud native of Quincy, Illinois, is a graduate of Quincy Senior High School, where she was a standout student-athlete for the Blue Devils. The daughter of Dale and Leah Erke, Lauren grew up alongside her siblings, Sierra and Logan. Academically accomplished, she was a member of the academic honors society and graduated with honors. Athletically, she shined in both volleyball and basketball, earning the academic athletic award, “Most Offensive Player,” multiple all-tournament selections, and all-conference honors. In her senior year, she consistently led her team in kills.
Lauren continued her athletic career at Carl Sandburg College, competing at the NJCAA Division II level. There, she made an immediate impact, finishing in the top 20 nationally in kills as a freshman and climbing to the top 10 her sophomore year. She also helped lead her team to a top 5 national ranking in blocks as a freshman and earned all-conference recognition both seasons. During her club career with Rockwood Thunder VBC, she won multiple titles and was invited to the prestigious USA Volleyball camp during her sophomore/junior year.
Outside of sports, Lauren enjoys sand volleyball, sewing, reading, art, drawing, embroidery, and considers herself an avid movie and TV critic. Inspired by icons like Shaquille O’Neal and Serena Williams, she supports the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, North Carolina Tar Heels, and St. Louis Blues. Lauren is also deeply community-minded, regularly donating blood and actively participating in volunteer efforts.
Why QU?
