Personal: Giovanna Waters, hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, made a name for herself at Concordia Academy, where she played for the Beacons. She is the daughter of Pat and Sara Waters and has one sibling, Patrick.

Volleyball runs in Giovanna’s family. Her mother, Sara Waters, played women’s volleyball at Augustana University, while her father, Pat Waters, was part of the University of Minnesota’s men’s volleyball team. Following in their footsteps, Giovanna has built an impressive volleyball career of her own and looks to continue to do so.

A six-year varsity player, she earned Honorable Mention and All-Conference honors, served as a team captain, and was named to the Class AA Showcase All-Tournament Team. Competing at the club level, she achieved national success, winning the 2021 AAU National Championship with Mizuno Northern Lights and earning the prestigious AAU All-American Award.

Beyond athletics, Giovanna excelled academically as a National Honor Society member, balancing her commitment to both sports and education.

Why QU?
I chose QU because of the fantastic volleyball program. The team is so welcoming and focused on becoming a great program together. Once I stepped on campus, I knew that QU was the place for me.
