2024 (Sophomore at JWCC): As a sophomore, Hinton appeared in 27 matches, starting in 26, where she totaled 96 sets. In those sets, Hinton had 106 kills (1.10 K/S) and a team-high 48 total blocks (26 solo, 22 assisted). Anna had a season-high 10 kills in a win over Danville Area Community College (10/9/24) and a season-high six blocks in a win over Culver-Stockton's varsity reserves (10/16/24).
2023 (Freshman at JWCC): In her first season with the Blazers, Anna appeared in 27 matches for a total of 71 sets, where she had 51 kills, four assists, 19 digs, and 26 total blocks. She made her collegiate debut against St. Clair County (8/18/23), where she recorded her first career kill. Hinton had a season-high five blocks in a five-set victory over East Central (9/1/23).
Personal: Anna Hinton is from Keokuk, Iowa, and graduated from Keokuk High School, where she was a member of the Chiefs. She spent two years playing volleyball at John Wood Community College before transferring to Quincy University. She is the daughter of Chris and Dave Hinton and has one sibling, Cole Hinton.
Throughout high school, Anna was recognized for both her academic and athletic accomplishments, including being a member of the National Honor Society and making the Honor Roll. She competed in volleyball, dance, and golf, and earned First Team All-Conference honors in volleyball.
In her free time, Anna enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, reading, and taking walks with her dog.
Why QU?
I chose Quincy because I have grown up around Quincy my entire life, and I really enjoy the town and the people in it. I was excited to be able to continue my education after John Wood and still be in Quincy.
