Biography

2024 (Junior): As a junior, Matt was fourth on the team in tackles (41), second on the team in tackles for loss (8.0) and sacks (3.0) to go along with a team-high four QB hurries across nine games. He had five games with five or more tackles, including a season-high eight tackles in the final game of the season against Missouri Western (11/16/24). Austin registered a tackle for loss in all nine games, totaling 48 yards.

2023 (Sophomore): In his second season with QU, Austin appeared in seven games on the defensive line, where he registered 15 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and was tied for second on the team for four sacks. He made his collegiate debut in a win over Chadron State (9/1/23), where he tallied a season-high five tackles. He recorded his first career sack against Madonna (9/9/23), which was the same game he had a season-high 3.0 tackles for loss. In the final game of the season against Upper Iowa (11/11/23), Matt recorded 2.5 sacks for 28 total yards.
