Quincy University Hawks

2024-25 (Senior): Dawson appeared in all 31 games, serving as a primary player off the Hawks bench. She averaged 20.4 minutes and averaged 5.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists. She also averaged a steal a game. Janiece was tied for second on the team with 33 three-pointers.

2023-24 (Junior): Started 14 of 26 games played, averaging 27.6 minutes a game. Pulled 110 balls off the board and scored 246 points, averaging 9.5 a game. Recorded 15 blocks and 34 steals for the Hawks. 

2022-23 (Sophomore): Started five games out of 26 played for the Hawks, recording 81 rebounds, three blocks, 22 steals, and 101 points in the season. 

2021-22 (Freshman at Otero): Appeared in 30 games, making 28 starts, where she averaged 10.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. She also averaged three steals per game on the defensive side of the ball.

Personal: Janiece Dawson comes to Quincy from Chicago, Illinois. She attended De La Salle Institute where she graduated as an honors student. Prior to her career at Quincy, Dawson played at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado. She loves watching Lebron James, the LA Lakers, and  the Chicago Bulls and in her free time, she volunteers with the Chicago Park District. Her parents are Jeanene and Earl. 

Why QU?
I chose QU because it felt like it would be a great fit for me. I was looking for a change, and QU seemed like it would be a great place for me to start over and become a better woman/athlete.
