Biography
Personal: Mariska Sheurman, a native of Griggsville, Illinois, is a graduate of Griggsville-Perry High School, where she competed for the Tornadoes. She is the daughter of Corey and Gina Sheurman and has one brother, Dalton. Her mother, Gina, is a QU graduate from the class of 2001. A standout in the classroom, Mariska was the Class of 2025 valedictorian, a member of the National Honor Society, consistently on the High Honor Roll, and part of the 2025 Pike County CEO class. Athletically, she was a four-year varsity starter for the GPHS softball team, a four-year member of the cheerleading squad, and served as co-captain for cheer. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, playing softball, crocheting, baking, and spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite athletes are Yadier Molina and Karlyn Pickens, and her favorite teams include Tennessee softball and football, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Camp Point Central football. Mariska also dedicates time to her community, volunteering each December at a local event in her hometown.
