Biography

Personal: Courtney Churchill, from Cuba, Illinois, is a graduate of Cuba Middle-Senior High School, where she was a standout student-athlete for the Wildcats. The daughter of Jason and Christy Churchill, she grew up in a big family with siblings Jeff Ashwood, Annie Babbs (Ault), Sam Decker, Jonah Churchill, and Cadie Churchill. Courtney was actively involved in extracurriculars, serving on the Yearbook Committee, History Club, FCCLA, and Art Club, while also earning Honor Roll recognition all four years. Athletically, she competed in volleyball and track and field, but made her biggest mark in cheer, where she was an eight-season varsity member and team captain. Her leadership and talent were recognized with the Outstanding Senior Individual Awards for both Showmanship and Voice at SuperCDA. Outside of athletics, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Inspired by cheerleader Josh Lindauer and basketball star Paige Bueckers, Courtney cheers for IU Cheerleading, the Chicago Bears, Cal Poly, and the University of Iowa. Fun fact: she is a twin, the youngest of six siblings, and the only one to pursue college athletics.

Why QU?
I believe that QU chose me. I knew the minute we finished the prospect clinic back in November of 2024, I knew QU was my home away from home. I wanted to get out of my small town and grow and meet new people. The jump was scary at first, but I'm so glad I did it. I loved the cheer girls and knew I wanted to do college sports. With Blessing-Rieman being one of the best hospitals and having the best NCLEX passing rate, I knew that Quincy was where I wanted to be for the next four years.
