Biography
Career (2022-25): In her four years with the Hawks, Shields appeared in 116 games and started in 106, where she put together a slash line of .260/.333/.307. She totaled 87 hits, which included 11 doubles, one triple, and one homer. She scored 40 runs and drove in 28 to go along with five stolen bases.Â

2025 (Senior): In her senior season, Shields appeared and started in 42 games, where she hit .248 with five doubles and 14 runs driven in. She also walked 16 times and was hit once to give her an on-base percentage of .333. In a wild 11-inning game against McKendree (4/25/25), Isabella walked the game off with a single that scored two runs.

2024 (Junior): Shields led the team with a .285 batting average in 144 at-bats through 45 games. She had a team-leading 41 hits including four doubles, and one triple, and hit her first career home run against Indianapolis (4/25/23) in game two. Isabella drove in nine runs and was 2-2 on stolen base attempts.

2023 (Sophomore): As a sophomore, Isabella appeared in 14 games and made 12 games, where she had a slash line of .235/.278/.543 in 34 at-bats. She drove in three runs with one double and stole her first career base against Purdue Northwest (3/5/23).

2022 (Freshman): In her first season with the Hawks, Shields appeared in 15 games, making eight starts, where she hit .214 with one double, two RBIs, and scored three runs. She recorded her first collegiate hit with a single in game two of a doubleheader against Hillsdale (3/6/22).

Personal:Â Isabella Shields, a multi-talented athlete from Rantoul, Illinois, graduated from Rantoul Township High School, where she excelled both academically and athletically. A valedictorian and member of the National Honor Society, Isabella was actively involved in student leadership, serving on the student council and participating in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). She showcased her versatility as a competitor in volleyball, softball, and marching band, demonstrating a strong commitment to sports and the arts.
Beyond her athletic and academic achievements, Isabella enjoys staying active through outdoor activities like hiking and surfing. She also has a passion for baking and appreciates a good nap when she’s not on the go. Isabella is the daughter of Elena and Caden Shields and the sister of Zach.
