Biography

2025 (Freshman): In her first season with the Hawks, Nielsen appeared in three games. She made her collegiate debut against Indianapolis (3/8/25), where she was hit by a pitch in her first career at-bat as a pinch hitter. 
-    GLVC Academic All-Conference

Personal: Nielsen, a native of Itasca, Illinois, graduated from Lake Park High School, where she was a key contributor to her team’s 2023 Class 4A Sectional Championship victory. Her brother, Michael Nielsen, played baseball at Quincy University from 2016 to 2021. Catherine is the daughter of Peggy and Paul Nielsen. Outside of athletics, Catherine enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks with her dog, and swimming.


Why QU?
I chose Quincy University because of the connection I developed with Coach Monroe and overall the town truly felt like home to me. I knew this was where I wanted to spend the next four years of my life.
