Biography
Personal: Sean Sossou hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and is a graduate of De Smet Jesuit High School. He is the son of Godfrey and Sawo Sossou and has two siblings, Djenebou and Aisosa. Sossou balanced his athletic commitments with his academics while competing at a high level in multiple sports during his prep career.
A standout performer in both soccer and track and field, Sossou qualified for the state level in soccer and in the 200, 400, and 4x200 relay on the track. He captured conference, district, and sectional championships and posted impressive personal bests of 21.6 seconds in the 200 meters, 48.2 seconds in the 400 meters, and a 1:27.8 mark as part of the 4x200 relay. His versatility and speed made him a key contributor across multiple events.
Off the field, Sossou enjoys hanging out with friends. His favorite athlete is Cristiano Ronaldo, and he is a fan of Manchester City.
Why QU?
I chose QU because it felt like home, and I really enjoyed the team and campus on my visit. I also get the opportunity to play two sports.
