Quincy University Hawks

Personal: Evan Sweeney hails from Aurora, Illinois, and was a part of a very successful track and field team at Metea Valley High School. With the Mustangs, Evan was a 3A medalist, a Dupage Valley Conference Champion, AAU Region 13 Champion, and an AAU Northern National Champion. He was a state qualifier and an AAU All-American as well. His discus throw of 54.24 meters broke the school record and ranked 83^rd among other 2023 graduates. His father and mother are Orville and Anthea Sweeney, and he has one sister, Eden. The Sweeney family is no stranger to success in field events as his father was a part of the Jamaican National Team from 1987-1992 and was an Olympian during that time. He holds the University of New Haven long jump record at 7.51 meters and was a Division II All-American at UNH. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and ping pong.
