Pauley is entering his first season at the helm of Hawks tennis. Pauley, a native of St. Cloud, MN, came to Quincy by way of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania where he served as the head coach of both the men's and women's programs since spring of the 2021-2022 season competing in the DII Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Â
Â
During his tenure with the Golden Bears, both teams saw improvement from past seasons with the men boasting a seven-win year in 2022-2023 for their highest win total since the 2017-2018 campaign along with an eight-win season for the women's team in 2022-2023 for their best showing since 2013-2014.
Â
Prior to his three years at the helm at Kutztown, Pauley spent a season as the associate head coach at Chicago State, where he led the Cougar men and women to Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships appearances in the 2020-2021 campaign.Â
Â
During the 2019-2020 season, Pauley assumed the role of assistant coach for the men's team at Saint Louis University where the Bilikens went 5-8 to open the year before the season was cut short due to COVID-19.Â
Â
Before his time as an assistant at SLU, Pauley took the reins of the UHSP St. Louis men's and women's teams for the spring of 2019, leading both teams to American Midwest Conference/Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships appearances.Â
Â
After graduating from QU with a degree in history, Pauley spent a season as a volunteer assistant at Missouri-St. Louis helping the Tritons during the fall season of 2018.Â
Â
On the hard-court for the Hawks, Pauley was a four-year starter, captain and two-time GLVC Academic All-Conference selection along with an ITA All-Academic nod in the 2016 season.
