Mark Schuering

Mark Schuering is in his second season (2018-2019) as the head coach of the Quincy University men's and women's tennis teams.

Schuering is a PTR certified instructor as well as a USPTA coach. He is a former Hawk who competed in the top singles spot from 1975-1979. He won Illinois NAIA District 20 and competed at the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City all four years of his career. He also played in the Junior Davis Cup for the Middle Illinois Association Team.

Schuering was inducted into the Quincy University Sports Hall of Fame and also won Mart Heinen Athlete of the Year.  He is also a member of the Quincy Notre Dame Sports Hall of Fame. Schuering was a seven-time City of Quincy singles champion during his playing career. 

Schuering served on the USTA/Midwest Tennis seven-member board of directors for six years. He was elected as the Mid-South (Middle Illinois) President, and he has been a longtime volunteer at USTA National, sectional, and district events. 

Professionally, Schuering served as State Trial Court Judge for 24 years for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. He also was an adjunct lecturer at Quincy University for 27 years. 

Mark Schuering is married to Kate Orlet, and the couple has five daughters. Three of Schuering's daughters attended Quincy University and played tennis.
