Biography
Personal: Ian Caballero, from North Liberty, attended Liberty High School, where he was a proud member of the Lightning Bolt swim team. Academically, he was a strong student, consistently making the honor roll and taking a composition course at Kirkwood.
In swimming, he was voted the most improved swimmer of the year in 2021-2022 and went on to earn 2nd Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-District, and All-Academic honors in the Mississippi Valley Conference for the 2022-2023 season. He was also a state qualifier and scorer and received the prestigious Live Like Line Award. Throughout his high school career, his team won district championships every year, and as a freshman, he was part of a state championship-winning team. He also swam for the iFly club team.
Outside of the pool, Ian enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, and lifting. He admires Tom Brady and is a dedicated New England Patriots fan.
