Personal: Massey is from St. Charles, Missouri, and attended Francis Howell High School, where he competed for the Vikings. He is the son of Joe and Mary Massey and has four siblings, Sara, Mikey, Jeremy, and Chris. His father played collegiate baseball at Maryville University.

Massey was a four-year varsity player, served as a team captain as a senior, and helped Francis Howell win a Class 5A District Championship. He was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection, earned First Team All-District honors, and led the conference in goals and assists.

In the classroom, Massey held a 3.5 GPA and finished with a 4.0 as a senior. He also competed in esports, playing Rocket League, and was part of the 4.0 Club. Away from the field, he enjoys collecting cleats, going to the gym, driving, working on his car, and listening to music. His favorite athlete is Cristiano Ronaldo and his favorite sports team is Real Madrid.
