Quincy University Hawks

Personal: Justin Kappner hails from Quincy, Illinois, and is a graduate of Quincy Senior High School, where he competed as a proud Blue Devil. He is the son of Ryan and Amber Kappner. A standout student-athlete, Justin consistently made the Honor Roll and demonstrated excellence on the cross country course. In 2024, he qualified for the Illinois Cross Country State Meet and played a key role in helping his team win the Western Big 6 Conference Championship in the 4x800 relay. His personal best in the 3-mile is an impressive 15:37. Outside of competition, Justin enjoys running, walking, and biking in his free time. He looks up to distance running phenom Simeon Birnbaum and is a fan of the Oregon Ducks.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I am familiar with the campus and surrounding area. Also, I want to help build the cross country and track program with the help of the great coaching staff and teammates.
