Zach Durkee enters his second season with the Quincy University men's basketball program in 2020-21.
Durkee comes to QU from Pfeiffer University. During his first season as an Assistant Coach at Pfeiffer, Durkee helped the Falcons to an 11-13 overall record and a 7-10 finished in the USA South. The Falcons averaged 102.5 points per game which ranked fifth nationally in Division III.
Prior to Pfeiffer, Durkee began his coaching career in the 2017-18 season as a Graduate Assistant at The Citadel. In his role, Durkee helped oversee skill development, analytics, film breakdown, and other administrative areas for the Bulldogs. During his lone season in Charleston, Durkee played a big part in the development of Zane Najdawi and Matt Frierson. Najdawi went on to become an All-SoCon First Team player, while Frierson was named SoCon Sixth Man of the Year.
Durkee played four seasons (2014-17) at Charleston Southern. While playing for the Buccaneers, Durkee was part of the 2014-15 Big South regular season championship team.
Durkee graduated magna cum laude from Charleston Southern with his bachelor's in business administration in 2017.
Durkee married Alyssa Dell'Acqua, a former Buccaneer soccer player, in July 2019. The couple resides in Quincy.
