Personal:Â MyKel Linear is from Macon, Missouri, and graduated from Macon High School, where he played for the Tigers. He is the son of Mary and Kevin Linear and has four siblings, Jayde, Jakeb, Robert, and Trenton. Athletic excellence runs in the family, as his father, Kevin, played basketball, and his mother, Mary, played softball at Hannibal-LaGrange University from 1982 to 1984. His brother Jakeb continued the tradition, playing football at Missouri Valley College from 2013 to 2015.
A four-year varsity quarterback, MyKel made his mark by breaking 12 school records during his career. He was recognized as an All-District quarterback three times, earned All-Media honors twice, and was a two-time All-Conference selection as well as a two-time Team Captain. His career highlights include a single-game performance of 366 passing yards, 448 total yards, and five passing touchdowns. He also set season records with 24 passing touchdowns, 35 total touchdowns, 2,029 passing yards, and 3,007 all-purpose yards, while finishing with career totals of 45 passing touchdowns, 4,244 passing yards, and 6,605 yards of total offense.
Beyond football, MyKel was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a fan of Kobe Bryant. Ranked 227th overall in Missouri, he finished sixth in passing yards and third in total yards in the state during the 2021–22 season. His leadership, determination, and record-setting performances established him as one of the most accomplished players in his program’s history.
