2025 (Senior): Austin appeared in and started two games on the defensive line during his senior season with the Hawks. He finished the year with four tackles, including two solo stops and two assists. Austin also added 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks, providing production up front for Quincy’s defense.
2024 (Junior): As a junior, Matt was fourth on the team in tackles (41), second on the team in tackles for loss (8.0) and sacks (3.0) to go along with a team-high four QB hurries across nine games. He had five games with five or more tackles, including a season-high eight tackles in the final game of the season against Missouri Western (11/16/24). Austin registered a tackle for loss in all nine games, totaling 48 yards.

2023 (Sophomore): In his second season with QU, Austin appeared in seven games on the defensive line, where he registered 15 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and was tied for second on the team for four sacks. He made his collegiate debut in a win over Chadron State (9/1/23), where he tallied a season-high five tackles. He recorded his first career sack against Madonna (9/9/23), which was the same game he had a season-high 3.0 tackles for loss. In the final game of the season against Upper Iowa (11/11/23), Matt recorded 2.5 sacks for 28 total yards.
2022 (Freshman): Did not see action.

Personal: Austin is from Pacific, Missouri, and attended Pacific High School, where he competed for the Indians. He is the son of Jacquelyn Austin and Brian Stone and has five siblings, Aric Austin, Brian, Logan, Lelland, and Colton Stone. During his high school career, Austin earned All-District honors at both running back and defensive line. Away from the field, Austin enjoys spending time with friends and family. His favorite athlete is Aaron Donald and his favorite sports team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
