Biography
2023 (Graduate): In his final season, Connell played in all 11 games, where he had 40 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks. He also had five pass breakups, five QB hurries, one fumble recovery, and a forced fumble. He forced his first fumble in his final game against Upper Iowa (11/11/23).
2022 (Senior): As a senior, Jackson was third on the team with 52 tackles to go along with 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups. He earned his first career sack against Southwest Baptist (11/5/22).
He also had two interceptions, which he brought both back for touchdowns. He is only the fifth player in GLVC history to have more than one pick in a season. His first career interception was against Kentucky Wesleyan (10/8/22), where he returned it to the house for 72 yards. The second interception came against Indianapolis (10/22/22), returning it for a 22-yard score.Â

2020-21 (Sophomore): In the shortened season, Jackson appeared in both games and had three tackles and two pass breakups.

2019 (Redshirt Freshman): In his second season, Connell saw action in ten games, where he recorded 21 total tackles. He made his collegiate debut against Central State (9/7/19), where he also recorded his first career tackles.

Personal: Connell is a native of Quincy, Illinois, and a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. Jackson is the son of Jayme and Bill Connell and the brother of Shelby. Outside of football, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and watching the Oregon Ducks.
