Personal: Hail is from Stockton, Missouri, and attended Stockton High School, where he competed for the Tigers. He is the son of Rob Hail. His father, Rob, played football at Kansas State from 1985-86.

Hail was a two-time Academic All-State selection, was a member of the National Honor Society, and was involved in Future Teachers of America. On the field, he earned Southwest Conference All-Conference honors at tight end and linebacker, while also receiving All-District recognition at tight end.

Away from the field, Hail enjoys football, lifting, working on cars, fishing, and hunting. His favorite athletes are Tim Tebow, Barry Sanders, and Brian Bosworth, while his favorite teams are the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
