Personal: Novickas is from Chicago, Illinois, and attended Mount Carmel High School. Before coming to Quincy, Novickas spent time at Ohio University, where he was part of Myrtle Beach Bowl, MAC Championship, and Cure Bowl championship teams. He is the son of Ray Novickas and has two siblings, Delilah and Gabi.

During his high school career, Novickas played four years at Mount Carmel, earning two varsity letters while also competing in basketball. Across 25 career games, he totaled 166 tackles, 15 sacks, one blocked punt, one interception returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and six pass breakups.

Novickas helped Mount Carmel win the 2022 Class 7A State Championship with a 14-0 record, finishing the season ranked No. 1 overall in the state of Illinois. He was named Outstanding Inside Linebacker of the Year in 2021 and 2022 and earned First Team CCL/ESCC All-Conference honors both seasons. Novickas was also ranked as a three-star athlete by On3 Sports and 247Sports and was an Under Armour Next Ray Lewis Camp invitee.

Away from the field, Novickas enjoys working out, playing NCAA 26, and spending time with friends and family. His favorite athlete is Ray Lewis, while his favorite teams are the Chicago Bears, Miami Hurricanes, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago White Sox.
