Devin Cates

Devin Cates is entering his first season as a graduate assistant for the Quincy football team. He will coach the Wide Receivers as well as assist with Special Teams and Strength and Conditioning.

Cates played tight end and wide receiver for four and a half years at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. While at Drake, Cates was a three-time All-Pioneer Football League Team selection. Cates led his team in receiving during his final year where he caught 51 passes for 627 yards and nine scores. He scored a touchdown in eight straight games to end the season. Cates totaled 140 receptions, 1,847 yards, and 15 touchdowns during his college career.
 
Cates is originally from Yuba City, CA where he attended River Valley High School. While at River Valley, Cates was a three-sport athlete where he played football, basketball and running track and field. In track, Cates was a four-time first team all-conference selection. In football, he was a two-time first team all-conference selection as well as second team all-state as a senior. Cates played wide receiver, quarterback, and safety while at River Valley.
 
Cates graduated from Drake University in the Fall of 2019 where he received a B.S in Psychology, a minor in Business Studies with a concentration in Leadership Development.
 
Cates will be pursuing his Masters of Business Administration while at Quincy.
