2024 (Junior): In her first season with the Hawks, Weller had a 5-10 record over 109 innings pitched. She made 26 appearances and started in 16, where she tossed ten complete games and had a 5.65 ERA. Her Quincy debut came against Parkside (2/18/24), where she threw a complete game, earning a 5-3 victory. Against Bemidji State (3/7/24), KJ threw nine innings and only gave up two runs in a 3-2 victory.

2023 (Sophomore at Danville Area CC): At the plate as a sophomore, Weller had a slash line of .313/.347/.550 in 160 at-bats. She drove in 35 RBIs and had nine doubles. four triples, and seven home runs.
In the circle, KJ was fantastic, as she tossed 163.2 innings and had an 18-7 record with a 1.97 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. She only walked 18 batters and had 118 strikeouts.
2022 (Freshman at Danville Area CC): As a freshman, in 48 at-bats, hit .417 with four doubles, two triples, two home runs, and drove in 14. She made her collegiate debut against Howard Community College (2/27/22) and earned her first hit against Louisburg College (2/28/22). Weller hit her first career home run against South Suburban College (3/21/22).
On the mound, Weller had a 7-3 record through 60.1 innings and had a 2.44 ERA. She also earned a save and punched out 40 batters.
Personal: Kyleigh “KJ” Weller is from Philo, Illinois, and graduated from Unity High School, home of the Rockets. She’s the daughter of Bryant and Courtney Weller and has three siblings: Nat, Mac, and Sawyer. Before coming to Quincy, she spent two years at Danville Area Community College.
In high school, Kyleigh was a standout both academically and athletically. A member of the Student Council and the National Honor Society, she also ran varsity track all four years, setting school records in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays during her senior year. That same year, she helped lead her team to an Illini Prairie Conference Championship.
Kyleigh continued her athletic career at Danville Area Community College (2021–2023), where she excelled on the softball field. Her accomplishments include:
- 1st Team Academic All-American (freshman & sophomore years)
- 1st Team All-Conference & Region Tournament Team (sophomore year)
- Helped lead her team to a 7th place national finish (freshman year) and 9th place finish (sophomore year)
Off the field, Kyleigh enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, and grabbing her favorites from McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A. She looks up to athletes like Harrison Bader, Bryce Harper, Nolan Arenado, and Jackson Olson and proudly supports the St. Louis Cardinals.

Quincy University gave me the opportunity to continue my athletic career while also continuing to work toward my career goal of becoming an athletic trainer. It also provided a very welcoming and family-like atmosphere that made me feel comfortable being away from home.
