Biography

Career (2022-25): In her career, Martin played two seasons at the JUCO level with Olney Central Community College and two seasons with QU. Across four seasons, Martin totaled 181 games played, where she had 493 at-bats and was a career .284 hitter. Jessie scored 121 runs and drove in 68 with 140 hits, 34 doubles, one triple, and three home runs. She walked more than she struck out (90 BB, 71 K) and stole a total of 58 bases, only being thrown out five times.

2025 (Senior): As a senior, Martin appeared in 39 games and made 33 starts, where she hit .114 with two doubles and six RBIs to go along with four stolen bases. She walked 17 times and was hit four times to give her an on-base percentage of .294. Jessie was fantastic in the field, making two errors on 103 chances, good for a .981 fielding percentage, which led the team.

2024 (Junior): In her first season as a Hawk, Jessie appeared in 49 games and started in 48 of them, where she hit .230 with four doubles and 14 RBIs. Martin was 10-12 on her stolen base attempts and had more walks than strikeouts (27 BB, 20 K).

2023 (Sophomore at Olney Central): Appeared in 36 games as a sophomore where she had a batting average of .362 and drove in 18 runs. She had nine doubles on the season and was a perfect 19-19 on stolen base attempts.

2022 (Freshman at Olney Central): As a freshman, Martin appeared in 57 games for the Knights and had a slash line of .348/.448/.508. She had a total of 16 doubles, one triple, and three home runs. Jessie had 30 RBIs and stole 25 bags.

Personal: Martin joins the Hawks after spending two years at Olney Central Community College. Jessie hails from Tuscola, Illinois, where she attended Tuscola High School. During her time as a Warrior, she was a part of the softball and cheer program, winning letters each year. In her free time, Martin enjoys going on walks, reading, and playing pickleball. She is also a big-time Chicago Cubs fan. Jessie is the daughter of Kim and Todd Martin and the sister of Jordyn.

I chose QU because it felt very welcoming when I came for my visit, and I loved the coaching staff.
