Biography

2024-25 (Freshman): As a true freshman, Stynes saw action in 19 games, starting in the last four, where he averaged 3.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Tiernan scored a season-high 13 points in the final game of the season against Indianapolis (3/1/25). Stynes had his first double-digit rebounding performance against Maryville (2/22/25), where he hauled in ten boards, four offensive and six defensive.

Personal: Tiernan comes to Quincy from Point Cook, Australia. Stynes was a member of the Nunawading Spectres before coming to Quincy, a team that is a part of the NBL1, a semi-professional basketball league in Australia. He is the son of Samantha Stynes and the Late Jim Stynes. Jim was a part of the AFL and was the first and only non-Australian-born VFL/AFL player to win the Brownlow Medal.
