Biography

2025-26 (Sophomore): Booher saw his sophomore season limited due to injuries, but remained a key contributor when on the floor. He appeared in 13 games with 10 starts, averaging 12.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists across 28.2 minutes per game.

Booher shot 42.5 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from three-point range, and was nearly automatic at the free throw line, going 29-for-30 for a 96.7 percent clip. He scored in double figures seven times, knocked down multiple threes in eight games, and hit at least three triples in five contests. His season-high came against Upper Iowa (12/1/25), when he scored 23 points.

2024-25 (Freshman): Booher put together a fantastic freshman season for the Hawks, appearing in 25 games with 24 starts. He led the team with 13.0 points per game while adding 2.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per contest. Booher also led Quincy with 66 made three-pointers, shooting 40.2 percent from beyond the arc, which ranked third in the GLVC. He also shot 42.4 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from the free throw line.

Booher led the Hawks in scoring six times, scored in double figures 17 times, and surpassed 20 points in four games. He made five or more threes in six different contests and scored a season-high 23 points against Maryville (2/22/25).

Booher became the second Quincy player to earn GLVC Freshman of the Year honors and the first since 2000. In conference play, he led all GLVC true freshmen in scoring at 12.58 points per game, while also leading true freshmen in field goals made, three-point field goals made, three-point percentage, free throw percentage, and minutes played.

Personal: Max comes to QU after putting together a highly decorated high school campaign at Greenwood Christian Academy. As a member of the Cougars basketball team, Booher was named to the Prephoops all-state team twice, also earning a small school all-state nod in the process while leading his team to both sectional and regional championships in the 23-24 season, with the latter being the first in the programs history. 

In addition, Booher was a three-time team MVP, three-time Offensive Player of the Year and Student Athlete of the Year at Greenwood Christian where he now sits atop the program record books in three pointers and second in total points. Three all-conference choices, two all-county selections, an Indystar all-area nod and a top 60 designation from Hoosier Basketball rounded out a phenomenal prep career on the court for the Greenwood, IN native. 

Off the court, Booher was named to the academic all-state team as well as earning a Johnson County Scholar Athlete of the Year title while serving as a National Honor Society and Key Club member. Booher was a Cum Laude graduate and consistent honor roll student. 

Outside of playing basketball, Booher can be found spending his time in the weight room or on the golf course, along with cheering on his favorite teams: the Golden State Warriors and Duke Blue Devils. His favorite athletes are Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry and Scottie Scheffler.
