Quincy University Hawks

2024-25 (Sophomore): In his second season, Kelly III appeared in 17 games, making six starts, where he averaged 4.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists. John led the Hawks in rebounds six different times this season and pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds against Cedarville (11/9/24).

2023-24 (Freshman): Appeared in all 28 games for the Hawks, starting the final 21. He averaged 6.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 0.9 assists. Kelly III was third on the team in total rebounds and also led the team with 16 blocks. His season-high in points came on 12/7/23 against UMSL, where he scored 15 points, including three three-pointers.

Personal: Kelly III is a dynamic basketball talent from New Orleans, Louisiana, who starred at John Ehret High School as a key player for the Patriots. A two-time Class 4A state champion, he earned State and District MVP honors in 2023 and was a three-time First Team All-District selection. John also garnered 2x All-Metro and 2x All-State accolades and set the Patriots' single-game scoring record with an impressive 50 points. In 2023, he was ranked Louisiana’s #1 player in double-doubles and #3 overall player in the state in his class. He is the son of Sani'j Kelly and Mary Ferrell and the brother of Sy'our, Sabyron, and Olivia Ferrell.
