Women’s Cross Country Continues to Break Records

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Quincy University women's cross country team continued to build momentum at the Larry Young Invitational on Friday, finishing sixth as a team with 146 points. The Hawks were led by a standout performance from Katie Park, while three Quincy runners made their mark in the program's 5K record book.

Park set the pace for the Hawks, crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 19:07.3. Her performance not only led Quincy on the day but also broke her own record in the Quincy women's 5K record book. Park's strong showing added another accomplishment to her season as she continues to establish herself among the program's top distance runners.

Emily Faletti followed closely behind, finishing in 19:51.1. The performance marked a personal record for Faletti and moved her into fifth place in Quincy's women's 5K record book. Her improvement highlighted the progress she has made early in the season and helped the Hawks put together a competitive team finish.

Caroline Schoenekase also delivered a notable performance, recording a time of 20:41.2. Her finish placed her seventh in the Quincy women's 5K record book, giving the Hawks three runners among the program's top seven all-time performers.

Ava Certa crossed the finish line in 26:58.7, while Mia Robnett rounded out Quincy's scoring group with a time of 28:22.4. Together, the five runners helped the Hawks secure sixth place in a field that provided another opportunity to test themselves against strong competition.

With Park setting a new standard, Faletti posting a personal best, and Schoenekase climbing into seventh, Quincy's performance at the Larry Young Invitational was highlighted by individual achievements that could have a lasting impact on the program. The Hawks will look to build on those accomplishments as the season continues.

Quincy will be back in action on Saturday, October 3, when the Hawks travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for the Seminole Stampede. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
