Nwosu’s Brace Lifts Quincy Over No. 8 UIndy for First Win in Indianapolis Since 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Quincy University men's soccer delivered one of its biggest results of the season on Sunday evening, taking down No. 8 University of Indianapolis 2–1 at Key Stadium. The victory marked Quincy's first win in Indianapolis since 2015 and moved the Hawks to 4-1-1 overall and 2-1 in GLVC play.

The Hawks struck first late in the opening half when Josh Nwosu converted a feed from Grant Buer in the 39th minute. Nwosu doubled the lead in the 71st minute with his second goal of the night, assisted by Leo Cann, recording the first multi-goal match of his career.

UIndy pulled one back in the 84th minute on a penalty kick from Gio Terlizzi, but the Hawks held strong in the final minutes behind goalkeeper Jake Offerman, who finished with one save to secure the upset.

Quincy totaled 10 shots, with four on target, while UIndy managed 14 shots but was limited to just two on frame. The Hawks also held a 5–3 edge in corner kicks.

With the signature victory, Quincy not only earned its first win at UIndy in a decade but also notched a key result early in conference play. The Hawks will return home to take on Upper Iowa on Friday at 7:30 PM following the women's match at Legends Stadium.
