INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Quincy University football team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Friday.
In 2024, the Hawks finished with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-3 mark in GLVC play, securing a fourth-place finish in head coach
Jason Killday's first year at the helm. Now entering year two under Killday, Quincy will look to climb even higher in the standings behind a balanced group of returners on both sides of the ball.
Quincy returns 11 starters, including six on defense and four on offense, highlighted by a pair of All-GLVC offensive linemen in
Nathan Smith (Second Team) and
Tre Wince III (Honorable Mention). Defensively, the Hawks bring back four All-Conference performers: First Team linebacker
Brock Inman, Second Team defensive lineman
Jaylin Vaughn, and Honorable Mention honorees
Matt Austin (defensive lineman) and
Brock Wiley (linebacker).
Indianapolis was voted the unanimous favorite to win the GLVC title, earning all eight possible first-place votes. Truman State followed in second with one first-place nod, while Upper Iowa rounded out the top three. Quincy collected 39 total points to secure the No. 4 spot.
The Hawks are set to open the 2025 campaign at home on Thursday, August 28, at 6:30 PM against Concordia-St. Paul under the lights at QU Stadium.
