CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Quincy University men's tennis team closed out its fall campaign in dominant fashion, sweeping Prairie State College 7–0 on Saturday for its fourth consecutive win, all by sweep.
Quincy set the tone immediately in doubles play. The pair of
Inigo Villacampa and
Rodrigo Coello Trevino cruised to a 6–2 win at the top spot, while
Patricio Jimenez and
Alvaro Rueda matched that score at No. 2. At No. 3,
Gerard Abad Puig and
Marko Cucuk completed the doubles sweep with another 6–2 victory.
The Hawks carried that momentum into singles, where they did not drop a match. Villacampa was flawless at No. 1 with a 6–0, 6–0 sweep, while Abad Puig earned a straight-sets win at No. 2 (6–2, 6–4).
Gael Castro fought off a late push at No. 3 to win 6–3, 7–5, and

The win caps a stellar fall season for the Hawks, who finish 4–1 overall, with their final four matches all ending in sweeps.
Quincy will return to action in the spring when they host Missouri Baptist University on Friday, February 6th, to begin the dual portion of their schedule.
