QUINCY, Ill. - Quincy University women's lacrosse program is delighted to announce its 2025 schedule. The Hawks are coming off their best season in program history, finishing with a record of 8-11 (3-4 GLVC) and earning their first-ever GLVC tournament appearance in 2024. Head Coach Kathelene Kim returns to lead the Hawks in the program's sixth season.
The 2025 schedule features eight home games, including five match ups against opponents who finished in the Top 25 last year, and the always-challenging GLVC slate.
The season kicks off at QU Stadium on February 8th, where the Hawks will take on the Davenport University Panthers. Quincy defeated Davenport last season with a commanding 18-10 victory.
Next, the Hawks head to Republic Bank Field on the campus of Thomas More University for a neutral-site match up against the Ashland University Eagles on Valentine's Day. Just two days later, they will face the Saints of Thomas More for the first time in program history.
On February 19th, the Hawks will host a rematch with the Maryville University Saints, the 2024 GLVC regular-season champions. This will be the first meeting between the teams since the Saints eliminated the Hawks in the first round of last season's conference playoffs. Maryville finished the 2024 season ranked 8th nationally by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
The Hawks' challenging schedule continues on March 2nd at as they host the Grand Valley State University Lakers, who finished 10th in Division II last season. Three days later, the Northern Michigan Wildcats will travel south to face the Hawks. They were receiving votes in the 2024 season as well.
On March 14th, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks journey from Colorado to take on Quincy for the first time at QU Stadium. With a day of rest, the Hawks will welcome the Concordia University St. Paul Golden Bears on March 16th for a rematch of last season's close 12-10 Quincy win.
The Hawks will travel to AdventHealth Field on April 3rd to face the Ottawa University Braves. Quincy comes off a 15-11 victory over the Braves in their neutral site match up in 2024.
Conference play begins on April 5th at Spratt Stadium, where the Hawks will face the Missouri Western State University Griffons. Quincy will look to build on their first-ever win against the Griffons, though this time, they'll play on the Griffons' home field.
Road play continues as the Hawks take on the William Jewell Cardinals on April 7th. This will be the Cardinals' second season of play and their first time hosting the Hawks. Last year's game was one of the Hawks GLVC wins with a final score of 17-3.
A week of home games kicks off on April 13th with a showdown against Rockhurst University. Last season's scrappy match up ended in a narrow 12-11 win for the Rockhurst Hawks, setting the stage for an intense rematch. Later that week, on April 17th, the Hawks will host McKendree University's Bearcats. Quincy looks to avenge last year's tight 11-10 loss. The week concludes on April 19th with a late-season rematch against the Maryville University Saints to close out play at QU Stadium.
The Hawks will wrap up the regular season on the road. First, they'll face the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds on Kiesel Field on April 25th. The Greyhounds, last year's GLVC Champions, finished with a 14-6 record and were ranked 13th in the nation by the IWLCA. Two days later, Quincy concludes the season at Lewis Stadium, where they will take on the Lewis Flyers. The Hawks aim to extend their three-game winning streak against Lewis.
Despite losing a core group of the inaugural class of Quincy University women's lacrosse players, the Hawks are en route to continue to build on their successes from the 2024 season.
