Hammond, Ind. - The Quincy University men's soccer team competed against the Purdue Northwest Pride on Tuesday (Sept. 5). The Hawks managed to get a late goal on the board but lost 3-1. 

Two Pride goals in the first half required some work from the Hawks in the second. Quincy created more opportunities near goal in the second half, drawing five corner kicks and three fouls in and around the box. The Pride secured the win in the 60th minute off a breakaway, putting them up three goals to nothing. Quincy got on the board in the final minutes of the match off a Jake Ellis deflection from 28 yards out, but it wasn't enough to secure a win for the Hawks' non-conference road trip. 

George Roke started in goal Tuesday afternoon and had one save. 

The Hawks look to get a final non-conference win against Newman University Saturday, September 9th at noon.
