ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Hawks hit the road for a GLVC doubleheader on Saturday, April 1st against the Lewis University Flyers. The two sides split a pair of shutouts. Lewis took game 1 by the score of 3-0, while QU tossed a one-hitter and won 2-0.
Game 1
The Flyers played small ball in the 1st as they used a sacrifice bunt to bring the runner home from third. The score would remain the same until the 4th inning, when the Flyers took advantage of a Hawk error to make it 2-0.
QU would scatter 7 hits through the contest, but would only manage to get 4 runners in scoring position.

Game 2
The Hawks got their first extra-base hit of the day in the top of the 1st, but would leave Taylor Downen stranded. As the game moved to the top of the 2nd, Maddy Findley got the Hawks on the board with an RBI triple to right center that scored Jayle Jennings.
Casey Brennan gave QU an insurance run in the 5th inning on an RBI double to left field to score Allison Kaiser.
Brooklyn Fischer was magnificent in the circle as she would toss a one-hitter, while registering 10 strikeouts.
