Hawks Score Double-Digit Goals but Lose

CHARLESTON, W.Va.- The Quincy University Women's Lacrosse team wrapped up their road trip on Sunday (March 26) against University of Charleston. Hawks would score double digits goals once again but it would not be enough as they lose the game 13-10.

Hawks offense would start off where they left off yesterday as Danielle Robinson would find the back of the net less than one minute into the game to give Quincy an early 1-0 lead. Patricia Chavira would add on to the lead with a goal of her own at the 13:32 minute mark making it 2-0 QU. The Golden Eagles would score two goals of their own to tie the game up at 2, but Danielle Robinson and Josie Szamanda would each score before the end of the first quarter giving Quincy University a 4-2 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Golden Eagles would score first in the second quarter but Danielle Robinson would score her third goal of the game as she made the game 5-3. University of Charleston would score three unanswered goals to end the second quarter making it a 6-5 game at half time.

The Hawks would waste no time tying the game up as Danielle Robinson would score a goal 30 seconds into the quarter tying the game at 6-6. The Golden Eagles would go on another three goal run but Danielle Robinson would score her fifth and sixth goal of the day cutting the deficit to only 1 goal heading into the last quarter.

The Hawks defense could not stop the bleeding as the Golden Eagles would score three goals in the fourth quarter. Danielle Robinson would score her seventh goal of the game and Patricia Chavira would score her second goal of the game, but this would not be enough as QU loses the game 13-10.

Quincy University will be back in action on Wednesday (March 29th) as they host Missouri Baptist University at The Rock. Game is set to start at 5:00 pm.
