Hawks Tie Bearcats 1-1

Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University men's soccer team grabbed another draw this weekend, tying the Southwest Baptist Bearcats 1-1.

The Hawks met a competitive Bearcats side on Sunday afternoon. The wind shifted throughout the game, adding some unpredictability to an otherwise even match. The highlight of the match came from Jake Ellis's corner kick goal just minutes before the first half concluded. Tommy Barrel curled the ball in from the right corner flag just to find Ellis throwing his body at the ball for the first goal of the match.

Physicality increased in the second half of the match as both teams needed a result from this game. George Roke was clean for the Hawks, notching four saves prior to Southwest Baptist's goal twelve minutes into the second half. The Hawks had a few set piece opportunities in the second half that could have sent them home with a win, but the Bearcats defended well. Roke ended the game with 6 saves.

The Hawks will look to add to their win column next week when they take a business trip to Kansas City to face Rockhurst and William Jewell.
